Island Georgian

This residence is located on the Gulf of Mexico on an island in Lee County Florida. The design parameters were to provide a part time residence for a multi-generational family consistent with multilevel zoning and environmental restrictions by local and state level authorities. The main level is elevated up to the second level for FDEP compliance and height restrictions led to a third story built within the roof of the main level structure.

The design and detailing is Georgian with island influences. Large overhangs and deep open exterior terraces provide needed shade and capture gulf breezes. The interior detailing provides barefoot elegance with Georgian detailing from the Chippendale stair hall to the sophisticated lagoon-side study. The pool is raised up to the main level family/kitchen spaces while affording panoramic gulf front views. The third level is guest suites along with grandchildren bunk rooms, all with gulf or lagoon views.
